Vista Teen Outreach

Vista Teen Outreach is a non-profit organization run by community volunteers.  They are providing food pantries at various schools throughout our district.  Hungry students are allowed to receive a backpack of food free of charge throughout the school year.  For more information about volunteer opportunities or donation needs, please visit their website at www.vistateenoutreach.org.

IB Grades at Vista Magnet

 

Vista Magnet Middle School has shifted to IB grading practices for the 2017-2018 school year.

Harvest Social: Friday, October 27th - 3:20-4:45 pm

All Vista Magnet students are invited to the Harvest Social on Friday, October 27th from 3:20-4:45 pm. Come join the fun with a DJ, games, food, a photo booth, and more.

 

Tickets go on sale starting Wednesday, October 18th during lunchtime at the student store. Students are allowed to wear school-appropriate costumes on the day of the Harvest Social, please see the Harvest Social costume dress code.

VUSD Festival of the Arts: Saturday, October 21st

 

The Vista Unified Festival of the Arts is coming up on Saturday, October 21st from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Vista Village shopping center.

 

Come join the fun to see visual and performance art from VUSD students in all grade levels. We hope to see you there!

 


 
 

Important Instructions for Pick up and Drop off

Please remember, all students driven to or from school MUST use our supervised Pick-Up/Drop-Off area at  the Eucalyptus Avenue entrance to the school.  Please do not use our staff parking lot on the corner of Civic Center and Vista Village, this is not a supervised or safe area for students. Full info on our Pick up/Drop off page. 

 

Please also respect our neighboring businesses near our school. Student drop-off anywhere other than our supervised Eucalyptus Avenue entrance is very dangerous and has become a serious concern. Students walking to and from school may enter and exit through the gates near the main office on Civic Center Drive. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

 

Favor de recordar que solamente se puede dejar o recoger a los estudiantes en la entrada en la calle Eucalyptus. Favor de no usar el estacionamiento del personal en la esquina de Civic Center y Vista Village, no es un área segura para los estudiantes. Toda la información aquí. 

 

Adicionalmente, favor de respetar los negocios vecinos. Es muy peligroso dejar sus hijo/as en otro lugar más que en la entrada de Eucalyptus, donde hay supervisión. Los estudiantes que caminan a y de la escuela pueden entrar y salir al lado de la oficina en Civic Center Drive. Gracias por su cooperación.

VMMS Application Information

 

Vista Magnet is currently at full enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year. If you are interested in applying for the 2018-2019 school year we will hold our annual application period during January and February 2018. School tours will begin at VMMS in December for interested families, and informational presentations will be made at elementary schools within VUSD during January and February.

Parents, if your student is struggling, we have a rich menu of support strategies:

  • Village meetings
  • Learning Labs before and after school.
  • Enrichment classes before and after school - check out counter in front office.
  • Student-led tutorials after school on Tuesdays (math) and Thursdays (English).
  • Principal's Weekly Progress Report and check in.
