Important Instructions for Pick up and Drop off

Please remember, all students driven to or from school MUST use our supervised Pick-Up/Drop-Off area at  the Eucalyptus Avenue entrance to the school.  Please do not use our staff parking lot on the corner of Civic Center and Vista Village, this is not a supervised or safe area for students. Full info on our Pick up/Drop off page.

Please also respect our neighboring businesses near our school and do not use their parking areas. Student drop-off anywhere other than our supervised Eucalyptus Avenue entrance is very dangerous and has become a serious concern. Students walking to and from school may enter and exit through the gates near the main office on Civic Center Drive. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

Summer Learning Log: Avoid the Summer Slide!

VMMS Summer Learning Log

Keep learning all summer long to avoid the summer slide: The summer slide is what happens when the skills students learn during the school year are lost or forgotten over the summer. When kids don't practice their skills during the summer, they can fall behind by the time school starts again.

Instructions: Complete 2 or more of the activities on our Summer Learning Log, attach or email proof of your participation (certificate, ticket stub, picture, etc), get parent signatures, and turn in this form when you return to VMMS in August to be entered in a drawing for prizes!

IB Grades at Vista Magnet

Vista Magnet Middle School utilizes the International Baccalaureate (IB) grade reporting system. All teachers use IB assessment practices in each class, and report IB grades to all students in order to provide specific feedback on student progress. The goal is to help students and parents more accurately understand their learning progress, where they currently are on a continuum of skills and performance, and specific next steps for improvement.

Click here to learn more about IB grades. Our goal is to help all students and parents understand IB grades and use them to improve their learning, please let us know about your questions and feedback.
